Winnie Kendall Berger
Dancer. Painter. Choreographer.
Winnie Berger is an artist living in New York City. Originally from Tucson, Arizona, she attended Fordham University and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's BFA program, receiving a degree cum laude in both Dance and Theology.
A dancer and choreographer, Winnie founded Mook Dance Company in 2014, a contemporary dance company, and continues to create repertory that evokes personal stories of significant life concepts, struggles, and experiences. In addition, she pursues dance by performing with Exit 12, Ballet Theatre Company's,The Nutcracker, and various other shows in New York City.
As a painter, Winnie utilizes color and fluidity in all of her work, thereby complicating a simple visual concept with layers. Her rich, whimsical paintings range from spirituality to feminism, humor to nature, Mexican folk art to fantasy.
Winnie currently teaches at New York Dance in Harrison, NY., Dance Cavise in Mamaroneck, NY., and Summit School of Dance in Summit, NJ. She is the co-Artistic Director of Hudson Valley Youth Ballet in Harrison, NY. She teaches ballet, pointe, contemporary, modern, and pilates/yoga. Book her for any workshops or master calsses!
